Can anyone verify if CC works [well] with the Apple TV client for both live TV as well as recordings. I have a hard of hearing friend who is heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem including Apple TV, and want to know if I can suggest this to her yet or not.

Thanks!

Thanks, I knew that much,  which is why I'm asking if it works now or not for this specific client :)

In case anyone else is interested, I found someone outside of here that uses Apple TV with Emby and he said CC does work in the beta client.  So presumably it will be available in the next client release.

I use the beta client on my Apple TV, and I do not have CC on live channels or recordings. I have to use CCExtractor on recordings to get subtitles extracted from them.

OK now I'm confused again.  Thanks for the input.  I'll double back with the other person.

Thanks @@samuelqwe .  The other person thought subtitles and CC were the same thing. So the answer seems to me that AppleTV client does not support CC yet.

No problem. AFAIK the only platform with CC support is Android TV/Fire TV.
