There does appear to be some recording weirdness going on at the moment but i have not tracked it down. Very short recordings or cancelled by watching live or another recording finishing.

Not got a handle on it at present. But it is happening.

Started happening in .21 for me. It has to do with when there are two connections to one tuner then one of the connections ends killing them both. I assume those two episodes are on the same channel. So when the first recording ends at 11:31 it kills both of them.

That maybe what going on but I have 4 tuners and 1 analog and yes both them work before but I just noticed it this seem happen with back to back recording.

My guest it has something to with (Support customizing referrer for m3u tuners)

Yes. From what I understand Emby is designed to use 1 tuner for the same channel regardless of how many you have. So if you have two recordings on channel 25 one ending at 11:31 and one starting at 11:29 you will have an overlap on that one tuner. That is why it happens on back to back recordings, I am guessing you have a minute pad on each side of the recording.

I noticed the same behavior last night when back to back episodes of 48 Hours recorded. I have a 1 minute early start and 2 minute later ending set on my recordings. I'm on 4.2.0.22 beta though.

I updated to 4.2.0.23 beta then setup back to back recordings with 1 minute early start and 2 minute extra end, both on the same channel. When the 2 recordings were at the overlap point I checked and only 1 tuner was being used. When the first recording ended so did the second one which was 3 minutes long. I'll attach my server log.

Thank you for doing that. I was about to update to .23 again to grab a log since I did not before going down to .18.

Just a guess, but I suspect that the recent fix to prevent orphaned LiveTV sessions has a hand in this...

Yes I'm sure that's exactly it. For now, As long as you don't play the recording in progress it should be fine.

Depending on what you are replying to, but I haven't been watching the recordings in progress when the back to back problem happens

Playback how? In Emby, or via the local partial recorded file via a media player separate from Emby?

I do on occasion, open a recording file directly and watch part of it, close it, then reopen to get the more finished file...on really long shows while they are airing etc.

But at the time of these recordings, I was not using the tv tuner, or watching a recording file that was in progress.

I was, watching a already completed recorded file from eailer in the day, via MPV on PC, not via Emby client, while those 2 shows were recording, but that should have no effect on Emby recording processes.

The issue was first noticed for me on build 4.2.0.21.

i have updated to .23.....same issue.

At least i have my HDHR DVR software I can fall back on, to set recordings on.

Was noticed on .21 for me as well. I don't record things either, two clients were watching the same channel and noticed that both streams got ended when only one of the clients ended it.
