I am now seeing incorrect orientation displaying of portrait photos from my phone. Landscape photos are fine.

I have checked thse photos in Windows and Photoshop, were they are displayed correctly.

This has only started recently.

Is there a file or database that I can delete or modify to correct this?

Please find attached screenshot to illustrate.

This is happening in all Emby apps.

Edit: I just noticed that this is happening to random photos, some portrait ones are displayed correctly!

Hi Luke

After posting the above post I couldn't see the zipped file so I'm trying again.

I hope this helps.

My observations:

Emby seems to retian the exact orientation that I used when origionally taking photos.

For example, If I rotate my Samsung S8 phone so the exposure button is on the left (i'm left handed) and its in landscape, the image is displayed in Emby upside down.

Thanks Luke for fixing the imasge orientation problem with today's layest version 4.2.0.31-beta :)

Some observations:

I usually display my phohe uploads in Sort by date added, descending. So my most recent ones are at the top.

When performing a slide show and clicking the large arrow button the photos are dislpayed in reverse order.

But if I just click on the image the correct order is displayed.

Interesting, but good to know.

Is this the intended behaviour?

In my collection of phone uploads there is a small group of photos (6) that still display upside down. This doesn't bother me, just a little strange.

I'll do some playing round in Photoshop and see if I can change this behaviour.

When displaying thse in explorer ther are orientated correctly.

UPDATE:

Regarding the last paragraph in my above post, I fixed the upside down images by deleting all in the resized-images folder and leaving the server overnight to refresh these.

So all my photos are looking great now.
