According to what you said, opening the http://app.emby.media test is not possible to edit the metadata, 4.2.0.20 beta can not edit the metadata, the metadata is invalid after editing.

This problem is not just that I have this situation alone. Some of my friends who use the 4.2.0.19 beta also have this problem. I can't edit the metadata, after refreshing, or the previous metadata, it is the same as the video I posted. Case.

According to this console the server returned a 500 error code at some point. Can you please attach the server log from the moment that you hit save? thanks.

In these examples you're only editing the Title. Have you tried editing other fields such as the overview?

Nevermind, I found the issue. It's only when editing a Series. Thanks.

So should this be default behavior to maintain proper title and have user lock Name field when customizing?

If you change the display order on a series, then it does a full metadata refresh on that series, seasons, and all episodes. So yes, in this situation, some customization you have could be lost.

What's happening here is that the update is triggering a refresh because it thinks the display order has changed, when it hasn't.

But technically it has/could be anytime you edit/modify the title.

We might be able to avoid refreshing the series when you change the display order, but we will have to refresh everything underneath, so customization there could be lost if things are not locked. And that's actually a tricky scenario to support, because locking could also prevent the display order change from even being able to work.

Not only the title metadata can't be changed, other information metadata can't be changed.

As Luke mentioned it is a automatic refresh issue as I can manually edit the nfo file directly and do a scan in Emby and it is recognized properly.  But if I use the UI and hit save the series is refreshed with default information unless I lock the metadata and or field after customizing them.  I do not get console errors like you are though.  My logs do show a complete refresh/reprocessing of the series if I try to edit metadata.

In other words, is the early version wrong?
