Can't Login To Server

Hi,

I can't log in to my Emby server, for the users who are currently logged in all is working ok for them but if they sign out they are no longer able to sign back in. (Username/Password not recognised even after resetting the password) ... have also reset the admin account on my server itself (.txt file in Emby config folder)

I have Emby running behind cloudflare, all accounts are hidden from the login page and my admin password is about 30 characters, all traffic is sent over HTTPS.

There is only 4 user accounts (incl Admin) and I can't login with either their username or password.

Currently have the latest Beta release installed, I know the passwords are correct as they are working on the forum (just me or is the Forum a bit slow and internal 500 errors?) plus I use a password manager.

All accounts are connected via Emby Connect.

All was working ok early this morning before bed.

Any ideas please? ... I've tried the following in the post below but can't work out which accounts are which.

HI there, are you potentially confusing Emby Connect vs your locally managed emby server user passwords? Because the forgot password process you just went through with the text file is for your local server passwords.

Hi Luke,

I only connect to my embyserver via Emby connect which my account is the admin account.

I noticed in the logs it said I could'nt connect via Emby connect which my other users had the same issue if they signed out.

All seems ok now and working fine.

Should I add a local admin account as a backup?

all of your accounts should have local passwords set.. otherwise anyone can access your server directly.   think of emby connect as a secondary method to access your server that is easier...   You have two doors to your server, you still need to lock the other door whether you use it or not.

All of your accounts are local accounts. That is the important thing to remember. With Emby Connect you're simply linking the two together. This way when you're away from home, you sign in with Emby Connect, and Emby Connect knows how to communicate with your server so that you don't need to remember the server ip address.

Does that help clarify the difference?

I understand the difference between Connect & local accounts, I guess I should of worded the above differently.

What I meant should I create a local account only with Admin privileges as a backup to my Admin account which is connected to "connect"

No because there would be no real difference between the two.  The one you have is a local account as well.
