HEVC 10-bit playback on Firestick - Too many errors

Was there ever a solution or work around on this? I'm getting the same errors, just with those Tigole video files.

Hi.  Can you describe exactly what you are doing and what is happening?

Is this also a 4K item being played on a 1080 device?

When attempting to play back the file files, I get suttering. The video starts/stops and the audio is out of sync.

I do not think it is 4k on a 1080 device. Here is the mediainfo if it is helpful.

I'm starting to wonder if my NAS just isn't powerful enough to decode these files. I'm going to troubleshoot this by installing the Emby Server on my Desktop (A gaming rig), shut off my NAS server but file share those files and see how well it works

That is a possibility.  An ffmpeg log would yield some clues.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Yup, that fixed it. Time isn't really on my side, so for kicks I just installed the Emby Server on my main desktop and problem went away. My NAS just isn't powerful enough to handle it. So I disabled Emby on my NAS and I'll just leave my Desktop running 24/7.

I have another Desktop, fairly strong as it used to be my Wife's gaming PC, now never used. I'll set that up in my spare time and make it dedicated.

Thank you all!

Could it be that this problem resurfaced just recently?

My mother reported trying to watch a 4k movie and it gives the error immediately after trying to load it (so file doesn't start playing at all).

Asked her to try some other 4k movies but results in the same issue.

It should be converted since it's the normal fire tv stick and not a 4k one.

Internet isn't that flashy so what solved it previously was lowering playback to 5mb/s.

I have asked her to drop it further to like 3mb/s just in case internet was being even slower, but it hasn't helped.

Server Version 4.1.1.0

Will have to check the version of fire tv emby myself, as well as sending a log when I can.

I would try even lower at 1 Mbps, then work your way up as you see success.

Thanks, apparently it started working again (without lower the bitrate) except for a few movies.

Told her to drop the bitrate to 1 Mbps and then those movies played as well.

Guess the 4G booster is having some problems with everyone being home and using the network :(

There could also be ISP throttling on either side that you might want to look into. Thanks for the feedback.
