Does Emby support MKV files? It seems all of the files I download from torrent sites are all now in MKV form. Its a bit of a pain in the ass to convert everything to MP4 just to watch.

Hi, yes emby supports mkv. You don't need to convert them to mp4 in order to use them in emby. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

I'm using the PS4 Media server app, it sees the files but when you try to play a MKV file it says media not supported.

@rhettp does the PS4 media server app support the file you're trying to play? what is the media info of that file?

Nope, it doesn't support MKV it looks like but I use VLC to convert all of the videos to h.264 mp4.

Are you able to play those mp4's now? I would imagine those will be fine.

We also have a media conversion feature that could help you automate this:

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
