Absolutely loving these images and kind of embarrassed to ask but can you look at a younger kids tv option? Something like Thomas the tank or the wiggles would be ideal. Thanks heaps.

Hey dont be embarrassed I got kids, they just happen to like Barney :P

The tank image absolutely rocks. I'll be using Thomas for my grandson's movies. Dam man I wish I had half of your talent.

Wasn't sure what to do with the channels image, so this is my take on it.

That looks great, but has more of a "live TV" look to it

Shaefurr, do you use an action or is there a lot of lasoo and quick selection going on? I think these are amazing and should be done for the core images ;)

My request would be to make these but for the all categories available of genres.

I had a little play with your images to create some posters and just started thumbs.

Depends on the image really. I always desaturate it at some point (of course). I usually adjust the curves unless its already really dark. And the rest is some variation of masking if possible, and a lot of color brushing, some images down to about 3px to get clean lines. All freehand using the mouse.

Some images I just play with the hue to get something the color I want, then ill use the color brush to desaturate the rest of the image. The tank image for example I changed the hue to get the fire blue, then I brush desaturated the rest, then color brushed a bit more blue in for the flying embers. After that I just had to touch up the fire since it had some green/purple in it.

I dunno.. I dont really have a set way of getting the end result, just whatever seems will get me there faster. But I usually use the same techniques.

I can make a video or two if it would help to see how I make them, and im happy to make more theyre just time consuming (well.. sometimes, the last bike image I did in like 1 min :P)

Posters look great though nice work :)

Nothing fancy in this example but it shows the basic steps I use most of the time, Video and finished image below.

Shaeff.... Do you have the backdrops pack used for the genre thumbs that are used as defaults, without the genre title?

That video is awesome btw, thanks and i cant believe how easy it is..... Once you know how lol and shared your knowledge ;)

For anyone else wondering how to bring up hue/saturation dialog for an image, its CTRL+U.

Cheers

Another example video using a slightly different method (this is what I used on the tank, spider-man, LOTR and battlefield image). Video and finished image below.

Note: Dont try to photoshop and drink, I made too many mistakes :P
