mentasm 43 Posted June 11, 2019 Share Posted June 11, 2019 The other issues is most times ET was updated it would break skins. Skins are not easy to make for your normal non web developer either. I had a go hacking together something for myself and while having some limited success I found it very frustrating and beyond my level of skill to do properly. If memory serves me correctly, you can fork the main skin in GitHub and then code it there. With the ability to change the color of the theater added to the core of it, I thought it wasn't all that nessessary. Maybe, if there were some mock ups of what people wanted to see. Back in the old MediaBrowser days, that was all the rage! Soultaker and ebr would release some really slick looking themes based on community mockups... But that was almost a lifetime ago. I just spent some dough for all the themes from @@throgmorton in hopes of resurrecting Emby for WMC, simply because of the wealth of options and viewing styles. I would certainly be willing to pay more for the same options in ET. Emby Theater has superior functionality for me, but I have some collections where poster view is just not as appealing, or lacks the ability to display all the metadata. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I built my whole home theater system around it and have been using since around 2008 (I think). I clung to the old WMC version with Windows 7. Last weekend I finally took the plunge and upgraded my system to Windows 10 and Emby Theater. I've spent a week on the learning curve and although I have most of my setup working again there are things I definitely miss. I was a diehard Diamond Theme fan. Created tons of custom icons and main backdrops and loved the way it looked and the functionality of it. I didn't realize before going into the upgrade that there are no themes for ET. pgriffith 65 Posted February 18, 2020 Share Posted February 18, 2020 I'd much rather they fix the shit show that is 3.0.10 Missing OSD, weird back button behaviour on IR remote, losing focus randomly, inconsistent navigation to get to sorting/filter etc, main menu often behind everything else, train wreck really. I have my mum & sister still using Emby for MCE, want to switch them to Theater but it's nowhere near ready for them to be able to use as seamlessly as the MCE experience is. I hear a full rewrite is in the works, is there any time frame for that? I feel Theater to be Embys weakest link by far.
