Converted items: Where are they stored and how long do they live?

So, my son decided to convert 14 seasons of TV shows and a few movies for his upcoming trip.

 

Which brings up the questions

 

1. Where are the now converted files stored?

 

2. And how long will they live there until the are auto-deleted?

Hi, what do you mean by convert? What exactly did he do?

As far as I can tell ... he created a playlist and instructed Emby to convert (transcode) the playlist to a format for his phone, before downloading them to his phone (which of course doesn't have the space to store 14 seasons and movies but ignore that for now).

 

I noticed because the server ground to a halt as it dutifully transcoded that amount of shows.  Task: Convert Media

 

Upon further inspection, I am guessing they live in .../var/transcoding-temp/*.ts ?

(But I didn't have more than a few minutes this morning to look)

Next to that folder there will be a /sync folder, which is where completed sync files are stored.

Until they are transferred to their final destination they will remain there unless the sync job is cancelled.
