raysv 2
Hi, I'm normaly using plex, but sometimes tries to do a jump to emby. For me, plex is now direct playing my 4k content, and direct streaming the the atmos. But when i tried emby again now, it transcodes the entire content, and buffers after 5 sec. Any ETA for when this is fixed for emby? or is it a setting that does I'm not finding?

sneakers282 5
Hi there, we're happy to help. Please see how to report a media playback issue. thanks ! The problem is the Emby client on Xbox has I assume not been updated to reflect the capabilities of the Xbox One X and S at it changed via firmware updates. 4k HDR content works but only in the following configuration when using the built in Xbox video player. Video = HEVC/H.265 Audio = AC3 Container = MKV You can test this via generic DLNA playback via the Films/TV app personal media server section on Xbox, such videos should play with automatic HDR switching, anything that does not have Dolby AC3 will have no audio. Emby on the other hand forces transcoding to H.264 even if the above is met. I hope you can update the Xbox profile to not transcode the above and only transcode audio if video is HEVC. (Atmos support is a bit sketchy, Xbox uses Dolby MAT which is PCM + Atmos, this makes Atmos logo appear even if audio source is not Atmos, UWP apps are to my understanding limited to PCM audio out and Dolby so Plex might be pulling off Atmos or it's not and it's just the side effect of Dolby MAT) Edited June 8, 2019 by sneakers282
