Getting wrong Ip Address for remote access

I noticed a couple of days ago that I could not log in remotely. When I got home last night I noted that my remote IP address was wrong, so I shut Emby down and turned it on again and the IP address was corrected. This morning I noticed that it has switched back to the wrong IP address. So I shut it down and restarted it agin, but this time the IP address will not change back to the correct IP address. I 'm running 4.1.1.0-1 and my NAS is up to date as well. So I'm not sure what's going on here. My IP address starts with 24.12.  and the changed IP address starts with 64.87.

How do I reset my remote IP address back to the correct address, and why is it changing to this 64. 87. address?

Hi, if you're running a VPN that could be one reason. you can always customize it in advanced server settings, but I would not do that as the method we are using is rarely going to be wrong.

I thought that was well. I usually don’t run a VPN on my NAS only on my desktop and iPhone and iPad. When I noticed the wrong IP address I turned my desktop VPN off. But the IP address won’t switch back. Would the iPad and desktop change the IP address? I would think it would, but then again.

Should I shut off all the VPNs on all devices to see if it releases it?

I did, it gives me the correct IP address, But Emby Remote IP is wrong and I can't seem to get it back to the correct IP address. Could the iPad & iPhone VPN be the Cause ? I have not shut them off.  The VPN On the NAS is off and as well the desktop.

I would rather not have to go in to the advance setting, but if that's the only option, I'll take a look at it.

Luke,

Thanks for getting back to me on this, I do appreciate it.  Well I got the correct IP to working again.  What it took was just restarting my cable / router modem. A week or so before this all happened, I by passed my cable / router modem, So it will act just as a modem, sort of speak. Some how Emby server switched back over to it from my main router, (not sure how or way), So by restarting the modem it switched Emby back to the correct router correcting the IP address. Since then I haven't had problems.
