ErikaJ 56
I was reading up on box sets and how/if it has any effect on library setuups and how the library is presented in any particular view. I am in the pricess of migrating my media from Plex/NPVR to Emby and started out building a few collections. I do not have any auto box plugin installed, yet when my collections were made via the server dashboard the wording [boxset] was attached to their name. Is this normal? Also from the collection view to watch one of the "300" movies I go to movies>collections>300 collection>300 then I can choose the movie to watch. That takes 4 clicks to get to my movie content. On the other hand if I go to movies>folders>300 I get to my content in 3 clicks. Is there a setting I need to change or something I can do in order to get to my content faster either in 3 clicks for both or less? I would expect that once I clicked on the folder 300 collection I would be presented with the movies that are in that folder. BTW I am using server 4.1.1.0 for setting up everything. Could my file structure be causing some issue? TIA and cheers.
Luke 37022
Hi, those boxset folders are underneath the server data folder. What exactly is your issue there? Regarding click count, you could also use the movies tab.
ErikaJ 56
Thanks Luke for your always quick reply. No issue on the "boxset" question it was more of a wanting to know if that was normal result when creating a collection. Based on your response I take that as a yes. For the second part, yes I know I could get to the movie content in 2 clicks by going through the movies tab. But since a collection has been created I would expect seeing the movie content right after clicking on that collection folder. Just as in the movies tab, you click on the movies tab and you are presented with all the "movies". therefore, it follows if one clicks on a collection tab/folder that is designated "300 collection" you should be preented with all the movies in that folder. It just seems it is 1 layer too heavy that's all. But if this is by design, fine, no woories. cheers...
Luke 37022
You do see the movie content don't you? The movie is on the very next screen, no?
Happy2Play 8252
There is no way to eliminate the additional layer you create when items are grouped into a Collection. Unless you enter the Collection Library instead instead of Movies Library (Collections-300 Collection-the movie)

Luke 37022
A collection is a grouping of different titles. there could be any number of items inside.
ErikaJ 56
That's exactly my point Happy. I would expect the movies to be presented like you stated "instead of Movies Library (Collections-300 Collection-the movie). But that path does not yield the expected result. Here is a graphical step through showing the steps needed to get to the movie content. Step 1 After clicking on Collections I get here Step 2 Clicking on 300 Collection folder I get here Step 3 Finally, clicking on 300 I get to my movie content Going the path of movies>collections tab>300 collection>300 is a 4 step process Going the path of least resistance movies>folders tab>300 is a 3 step process. Any suggestions to cut out the redundancy steps?
Solution Luke 37022 Posted May 21, 2019 Solution Share Posted May 21, 2019 Ok it looks like you added the 300 folder to the collection instead of the 300 movies. Try removing that from the collection and then add the two movies.

ErikaJ 56
Yup som arbetade Luke! Det eliminerade 2 lager och nu är det bara 2 klick. Tack för hjälpen. Skål!!
