markand 7
I am in the process of migrating from a Mac Pro server to a QNAP TVS872-XT using the Backup method described in the wiki. It seems that Emby creates files/folders in the Volume root. For example, a collection that was migrated shows "/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/" in the Library section of settings. How can I view that directory? Using QNAP's File Station only shows shared folders. The reason I want to view it is that the collection, though migrated, is missing all of its media. I think that is because the root of the media files has changed. Edited May 17, 2019 by markand
Luke 36886
@@PenkethBoy do you have any tips on navigating to this directory? Thanks !
markand 7
@@Luke, so I've managed to ssh in and can view the directory, though I guess now I'm not sure what to do with it. My configuration is all screwed up. I have duplicate Libraries and Collections and can't delete them. I tried removing Emby from the System, but when I reinstalled, The Home screen looked identical - meaning it had all of my existing Libraries, duplicates included. However if I go into settings all of the Libraries are no longer there - as I would expect from a clean install. If I uninstall Emby again AND delete ./qpkg/EmbyServer, should that clear things out? PenkethBoy 2063
If you want to view files and folders other than those in FileStation then you need to use other methods/programs For Windows - Then you are going to need WinSCP and connect via ssh - and/or use Putty again via ssh Connecting from a MAc IIRC should be easier (Terminal?) - but have never tried to do that The folders where emby is installed is a "protected" location i.e. where all packages are installed - hence why you cannot see the files/folders in FileStation - to help prevent you changing something important [edit] Ok posted at the same time Edited May 17, 2019 by PenkethBoy

markand 7
@@Luke, @@PenkethBoy - Can you give me the location of what to remove to complete remove Emby from the NAS? As mentioned, I did an uninstall/reinstall, but the reinstall was corrupted. The Home screen had all of the Libraries showing (with duplicates) but when I went to Settings/Libraries, I just got a spinning progress indicator. No libraries showed up and I had no button to add any. I uninstalled again and via SSH I removed ./qpkg/EmbyServer and then reinstalled. I still have the same home screen and no Libraries and can't add them. How can I get to a clean state so I can try again?
PenkethBoy 2063
not sure what you have been doing but i would do the following Uninstall Emby via the app centre reboot the NAS then ssh in and see what if anything is left in /EmbyServer directory If its empty then reinstall and you should get the Wizard to configure emby fresh - if not then delete whats in the embyserver folder before reinstalling What version of Emby Server are you installing? markand 7
@@PenkethBoy - so I've uninstalled and am rebooting. However, I don't have any /EmbyServer directory - even before uninstalling. Is the root EmbyServer within another directory?
markand 7
@@PenkethBoy - Thank you!!! I think the magic step was rebooting. After doing so, /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer was gone and reinstalling brought me to a clean state. Thank you so much for your help!
