Playing strm files in an external player?

I’d like to play some strm files using Kodi as an external player.

 

I’m selecting “internet videos” in the external player setup area which I assume means strm files but when ever I try to play the strm file Emy is trying to play it internally and not in Kodi. I assume by “internet videos” that is referring to strm files?

 

Selecting “video files” as one of the options does work as expected so I do have the application path inputted correctly.

 

Is there something else I need to configure to get this to work?

 

In the arguments area, per what I’ve read elsewhere I just put in the text “{path}” if that what I’m doing wrong?

 

Any guidance would be ver much appreciated.

You'll need to research whatever command line arguments are required by the external player that you wish to use.
