Remember scroll position

I'm scrolling through my collection. I click on a film to go to its page. I click the back button...and it takes me back to the top of the page when the film I clicked on was further down.

This gets irritating if I'm quickly going through a bunch of films for admin purposes (checking images, music, metadata etc). Is there any way to have it remember where I was in the previous page and take me there?

+1. This is a huge annoyance for me too. Not just for collections, but for any display... library, search, anything that shows more than one page of movies.

So are you referring to a browsing issue or the issue when you edit a item?  From a browsing standpoint I do not see the issue you are referring to unless it is specific to a client.

Or is this specific to a certain sort order?

Yes from a edit standpoint the required refresh does not put you exactly where you were.

This happens in the web browser when I'm looking at a page of movies: a library, collection, or search results. I scroll down the page and click on a movie to view the detail page. I click the back button and instead of returning to the row the movie is on, it positions to the fourth or fifth row from the top.

But I tried a few things and found that this happens in the Firefox and Edge browsers, but not in the Chrome browser. So the simple "fix" for me is to use Chrome, or the upcoming Chromium-based version of Edge (i'm running the beta release), for Emby.

I was only testing in Chrome, but yes testing in FF and Edge I do see this behaviour.  So the issue is browser dependant.

Yeah, Firefox has a lot of flaky behavior and I've seen it have positioning problems on other sites. On the CNN site if I click on an article and then click back it goes to the bottom of the page. I should have made that connection.

"We have a report of bizarre behavior on some sites when the 'back' button is pressed."

"Round up the usual suspects!"

[cut to line-up... witness points to Firefox.]

"Him, number 69.0.3! He's the one!"

When I'm looking for movies to record I select a channel and scroll right to the bottom so I'm looking things that will air in 2 weeks' time.

I'll find an interesing looking movie, select it and hit record, then I'll investigate the "More like this" suggestions, often clicking though to more suggestions after that.

Usually I have to hit back serveral times because I'm deep into the suggestions. When I get back to the original channel's listings Emby will put me back at the top.

I notice this on Android mobile and using Firefox on my desktop
