Why do you feel the update failed? I would try just waiting next time rather than killing it.

Cuz it was already dead for an hour. And no status message from emby on server pc nor web interface, just unresponsive.

I had no issues updating on Fedora 30 beta.

Great feature the new release notes with link about what is in the new in the version, (fixes and updates).

Cheers!

I also am unable to update to 4.2.0.1. Currently on 4.1.0.25 beta, Windows 10 Pro.

I am stuck in a "Please restart the server to finish applying updates" cycle.

I then downloaded 4.2.0.1 from the beta download link, and ran "setup.exe".

‚ÄčI was presented with an error dialog. Please see attached.

(My apologies if I have hijacked this posting- didn't want to duplicate the topic).

That error looks like something was holding the folders/files in the emby install directory. Usually for that I just reboot the server and re-run the setup. Hope that helps!

Thank you- that was it (linux guy here- so was not sure how to troubleshoot windows).

The reboot allowed the upgrade to occur. Thank you!

That was the same issue I had there were no users on the server yet ffmpeg had something held. Log maybe?. Part of the upgrade should probably check and make sure FFMpeg is shut down first.
