Question about Emby buffering

Dont know if this is posted in the correct forum.

I have both the Emby premier and the Plex pass. I tried to play a file (comedy Central roast Pam Anderson) which is an H264 AAC encoded file. Emby takes long to load say 10 seconds and studders every 5 seconds. Plex plays no problem same file. Tried to watch Solo A Star Wars Story and Emby played it kindof jerky sort of rubberbanding. Plex again no problem. ( Same H264 AAC encoded Mp4). I am running the Emby and Plex side by side on my Synology DS 918+ with 4 10 Tb WD reds ( total of 40 TB) and upgraded to 8 gig Ram. Why does Plex play perfectly remotely and Emby buffers? Is Emby has to be used locally and Plex remotely? What can I do to get Emby working just as good as Plex?

Tried remotely with my Android tablet and a Roku 4.

Actually just tried it with my Iphone and no problems.  Maybe Roku and the tablet not strong enough to play the files?

most probably is the tablet / roku (roku aint a patch on firestick 4k in my opinion) i too rock a ds918 with 8gb ram i have absolutely no problems streaming or transcoding anything, what i will suggest is use docker rather than the syno package

one thing you could try to do which might help diagnose....

it is probably a bandwidth struggle across the LAN, try setting the transcoding to say something like to 2mbps then at least you can see if the bandwidth is the problem

:o Nice! I've got a DS1815+ with 8x6TB WD Reds running SHR total 32.6TB which gives me a 2 disk redundancy.  I would really considering changing your so you have a redundancy, just think if one drive fails, you lose the lot?!

It’s a 40tb total and has 1 drive redundancy. It’s running the shr from synology.

hers the log file from that day.

There's a fair amount of playback activity here. Around what time did the problem occur? Also was there an ffmpeg log, and if so, can you please attach that too? Thanks !

Getting the logs was in network, my apartment in the city. But trying to watch the roast and solo was out of network, my home upstate.

I did on the roku but didn’t have chance to test it. Won’t be going up there for a few weeks. My friend also has trouble streaming from plex a while back if I remember correctly.

New problem last night was the audio wasn’t synced to the video. Tried the same solo movie that was buffering. Problem is on local network now. Plex played the movie perfectly again.
