Multi Audio Track Selection Issues

Hi,

I think this has been alluded to in the subtitle threads, but I thought i'd start a new topic on this to get visibility.

It's a minor annoyance rather than a big issue for me - but when there are multiple audio tracks, the player and stats for nerds is not playing the one selected but the other one.  Reproducible on every MKV I have tried - all direct play so no FFMPEG logs.

So as an example - if my MKV has

1:H264

2:DTS (default)

3:AAC

It will show as DTS (the default), show DTS in stats for nerds, but play the AAC (indicated on the AVR - via Optical from the TV)

If I select AAC, it will say this in stats for nerds, but play the DTS (again, indicated on the AVR - via Optical from the TV)

So it's an easy bypass, as I just select the other track and all is well - but perhaps for the next LG submission this could be a quick fix ?

Happy to provide the core logs if this helps diagnose but from looking myself, it's not telling me an awful lot.

Other than this - the LG App is running perfectly for me and direct plays everything I throw at it including HDR 4K with light grey subs now  ;) - Thanks

I was playing with the LG APP and has a lot of problems with 4k content, in fact the app itself is very slow. Thanks

Hi, this isn't related to audio track selection. Please see how to report a problem. thanks.

I've tested this with an mkv with

1:H264

2:DTS (default - English)

3:AC3 (chinese)

For me, the audio selection is always correct and with two different languages it is easy for me to be sure.

Can you confirm you are using version 1.0.15 from the store?  It is possible that versions older than 1.0.15 may have had a problem with track selection.

Can you please send me the media info for this file?

Hi @@SamES - I've sent these details via PM.  Thanks.

We have identified the problem to be the LG Player ignoring the 'Default' flag of an Audio stream that is not the first stream after the Video stream.  It can be resolved by me adding the Stereo AAC stream as track 2/default and having track 3 as the multi-channel AC3 or DTS.  Once changed, a meta-data refresh is needed on that item to correctly populate the emby database, everything than plays/displays as it should.

Thanks @@SamES

We can also look at handling that situation in the app. Thanks for the investigation.
