I'll be in the middle of watching something, then it'll pause to buffer and just get stuck. Backing out just gets the spinning load wheel, I have to turn the TV off and back on again. Then I'm required to log in, which doesn't work except via Connect. Even that got stuck generating a PIN once. Then watch a couple of minutes of something, followed by more buffering, turn the TV off, turn it back on, and so on and so forth. It's impossible to actually watch anything.

Can you give examples of what type of file you are trying to watch (1080p MKV, 4K MKV etc), does the file have internal subtitles and assuming it's transcoding, the ffmpeg log ?  Are other streaming apps ok ?  Is the TV wireless or wired ? What TV model is this and it's WebOS version ?

It's an OLED55C6, latest app version (updated a couple of weeks ago). Haven't had issues with the web, which is the only other thing I use.

No subtitles are in use, although I think they do exist. They're all DVD-sourced MKV, both trailers and actual films. They should be direct playing.

The fact that it's failing to even load the home page or whatever points to it not being video-related.

Agreed, they should be direct playing without any difficulty at all (assuming they are H264/H265 within the MKV container and not MPG2 (being DVD Rips, they 'may' be but unlikely)).    Look for 'transcode' logs in Emby if it is transcoding - if none, then it is direct playing.

On the TV web browser, are you able to do any sort of speed test to confirm you are getting a solid 10Mbit/sec (needed for SD) and ideally 20Mbit/sec for HD (non-4K) files ?  Have you tried the TV Ethernet connection (and disabled the wireless) to eliminate whether it may be the wireless connection ?

But even with a poor Wireless connection, you should get the home page all loaded without too much effort - so not sure what is going on here tbh.

Having the same problem on my LG OLED C7. Need to reconnect to server or sign in every time I close the app and go back to it

Can you try uninstalling the app, do a full power cycle on the tv (pull the plug for a minute) then reinstall it.

Please let me know how that goes.  Thanks

I saw this issue with screenplay on a WebOS3 emulator.  Is emby using local storage to save these settings?

@@fm_carv Somebody experiencing the problem should load screenplay and see if it is affected the same way.  Yes = local storage bug on the TV hypothesis is supported.
