lorac 100
I have an NVIDIA 1050. My issue is that sometimes after pausing media there's no sound upon resuming playback. The issue has persisted through multiple driver versions and even a different PC. Video card is connected to a Pioneer VSX-1131. I have to start and stop the media in order to get sound. I know from a different thread many others have the same issue. I don't have any logs right now but will work on it. Guest asrequested
OK, I just reproduced this in the standalone. I'll try to pin it down, and make a report for those guys.
Guest asrequested
Try using: audio-stream-silence=yes https://mpv.io/manual/stable/#options-audio-stream-silence

Guest asrequested
Luke, I'm wondering if that might help with the refresh rate switching losing audio issue? But I don't know how the switching works. As in, does it stop and restart mpv, or does it switch while playing? If it's the latter, this might help. I can't test this right, now. I changed the OS on my mini computer. Can someone maybe test my theory?
Luke 37060
@@PrincessClevage can you try that?
PrincessClevage 173
I could not re-produce the issue with audio-stream-silence=yes added to mpv.conf but the issue is somewhat random and only more time will tell for sure
Guest asrequested
Like, if you haven't already, you should probably roll this into the next release.
Luke 37060
well the docs say this: Not all AOs support this. So i guess the question is what happens in that situation. Does the feature just not work, or do you end up with no audio?
Guest asrequested
I think that will depend more on the OS, but I'll try research that a bit more. Usually if something can't be used it just gets silently disabled. So I don't see it causing problems. But I'll look into it.
Guest asrequested
well the docs say this: So i guess the question is what happens in that situation. Does the feature just not work, or do you end up with no audio? Ok, I just tested most the --ao drivers (on Windows). The only one that worked (regardless of using audio-stream-silence or not) was wasapi. So I think for the Windows build of Theater, your concern is moot. I can't speak for IOS. So for Windows, rolling in --audio-stream-silence=yes is not only safe, but a good idea.
Guest asrequested
Plus, if you add the --audio-device option, that will specify the the --ao
