Android App ... Audio Player - Random play

So .. I'm new to EMBY,  I really like it ... I have a couple questions that I can't seem to sort out...

 

1 - IS there a way to random play music from a large collection?

 

2 - I know there is some config for transcoding ... but ..  what is happening to the Audio from emby as it streams;  does my server convert the origina FLAC files to mp3 to send out to my android phone?  

 

3 - Is the app API open for development .. along the lines of subsonic (what I'm trying to replace with emby)

 

Thanks ... sorry if these questions are answered elsewhere ... but I can't sort them out.

Hi @@coacharnold, have you tried using the shuffle functions in the app? We should improve these even more by adding them directly into the audio player after you've started playing.

It depends on the music quality settings in the app. The default I believe would convert to 320k mp3, but you can control this in the app's settings.

Hi,yes we have an open api, with interactive docs built right into the server ! Just click the Api link at the bottom of the server dashboard.
