Since I am in here I would like to know also why PGS subtitles make the videos unplayable. I have the server and the app updated.

Thank you in advance

So, I just open the file and it doesn't start. Goes to a black screen and the app just stays like that until I force close it. I play any type of MKV fine with h264 and h265 but this ones I can't, the only visible difference for me is the SSA subtitles but I start the file without subtitles.

Also I take the time to talk about some bugs with movies, sometimes when a movie have a DTS 7.1 audio the image goes bad, I have to change audio during play and go back for the movie to play ok. With the PGS subtitles the movies, any of them don't work.

Hope you can help me with this issue or at least take notes for future updates, I have been testing both emby and plex, and I 'm really digging emby apart for this bugs - For instance with PLEX this works fine (except with the PGS subtitles that when activated it does play the movie but not with HDR), but I prefer the kind of control I am getting here. Hell, If you had subtitle controls for color and brightness on the LG app I will just buy the thing :P

P.S: Also love to see an admin so active in helping, good job

Ok, we have a new app update in review. Let's re-evaluate once that is available. Thanks.

Ok, thank you. Can you tell me the version of the app which I should expect to be on the look out?

1.0.15. It has been released today.

Hello again, after many tests, the problems persist even with this new release. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

SamES

Is it still all the same issues?

For the black screen issue, this is something we need to force transcoding on.  It appears to be an LG limitation with some embedded subs, even if they are off.

For images going bad with 7.1 audio, can you provide some media info.  Are they HEVC/4K files by any chance?

Is it still a problem that you can't play and movies with PGS subs?  That one is a bit unusual.  What happens when you try?  Is it that the subs don't play (should be transcoding).  Are they 4K as well?

Sorry for the time, somehow I missed the notification. But yeah, the PGS subs just don't work at all I activate it and the video stops, sometimes even crashes for a bit, never did work really, but in previous versions the crashes were more prodominant. I think something is missing from the devs side because even with plex PGS has issues working only without being able to do HDR. And yeah I just have 4K HDR movies with PGS to test.

For the Audio issue yes they are HEVC/4k and the audio is true hd 7.1 Dolby Atmos

The LG TV does not support PGS, therefore the server will have to burn them in with transcoding, and you will need a server that is powerful enough to do that.
