Can i use an emby app instead of kodi with emby addon? There are many emby apps https://emby.media/community/ But i'm not sure which one to use then android mobile? android tv? clarkss12 295 Posted March 6, 2019 Share Posted March 6, 2019 The Android TV version works natively, and plays all the video codecs flawlessly, but the audio is always PCM stereo. No DD or DTS or any of the HD audio codecs. Of course you can use the ZDMC as the external player, and it plays everything including the HD audio codecs. It is in the Google Play store, so no side loading needed. Here it is using external player. It does show skipped frames, but not sure why. The mediaplayer is connected with sonos playbar So no surround setup But the tracks are surround dts-hd and stuff i want it indeed to play natively, direct play, so no transcoding. With last pictures you point to zdmc, but zdmc is just a kodi built, which uses external player (zidoos player) so i dont understand why you say to use external player zdmc, thats not correct Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I used ZDMC as an external player to show the stats of the media that is playing. Example, it shows that the 4k video with HEVC codec is using hardware transcoding from the Zidoo.
