Same here. This is a must have. If YouTube does it because I pay for YouTube Premium, then Emby Premium should have this as well.

I don't have an ETA but we are working on an automatic switch to the native player with server transcoding when you press the Pip button. That will allow us to accomplish it seamlessly.

So happy to see that PIP is in the work. Gonna buy the lifetime subscription for that :)

I'm here when you need testers.

Any news on this implementation?

Hi, not yet, but we are in the midst of the work I mentioned above. Thanks.

Is there is any talks of a beta or alpha of this planned feature?

It's in-progress. There are steps that need to be taken first, such as having the ability to switch back and forth between the native Apple player and our embedded player (mpv). So that groundwork is what we're currently working on.

If I may suggest in the interim: have users re-open the video when switching players

Tbh, I sometimes have to stop and resume videos when switching audio outputs and since the UI is quick it's a minimal inconvenience. If I knew it was required, I wouldn't even think twice.

I like this idea, maybe a toggle in settings to enable the apple native player. Knowing that it requires more trans-coding. Likely would help speed up the process in the interim.

What's the current time frame for this to make it IOS?

I don't have an ETA but we are working on it. Thanks.
