Question about my external drive

playback error compatible streams available

Best Answer maegibbons , 25 February 2019 - 01:21 PM

The ffmpeg log says the file does not exist.

D:\Movies\8 Mile\8 Mile.m4v: No such file or directory

is that path still valid?  Is it an external or network drive?

Hello. Sometime over the past week, all of my devices are suddenly unable to play videos off my Emby server. All get an error along the lines of "Playback Error: No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later". Devices are a few different computers on the same network (Chrome and Internet Explorer), and a Roku running the Emby app. On the playback devices, the thumbnails aren't displaying properly most of the time too (it just shows a green picture).

My Emby server is a Dell laptop I've set up as a media server a few months back. Emby has been installed for roughly a month on it without issue during that time. I've updated the drivers to the latest available, including the Intel HD 4000 graphics driver directly from Intel (15.33 x.x.x.5059). I have a premium Emby account, and have tried disabling hardware acceleration on the server to no avail. The Emby server is running version 4.0.2.0 and says it's up to date.

Any thoughts or ideas to try aside from uninstalling and reinstalling? I'm attaching some of the logs in case they are helpful. Thanks!

Well now. That was embarrassing. That was indeed my issue. The external drive I was using decided to poop out on me, and I wasn't alerted. Thanks for the prompt and fast reply! :D
