From my dashboard:

jim is playing WGRZ-HD on AppleTV
2/18/2019, 11:22:35 pm

jim has disconnected from AppleTV
2/18/2019, 11:52:28 pm
Ip address: 192.168.1.250

However, I did not exit out of watching the channel prior to making the AppleTV go to sleep.

There is currently a file building in Transcoding-temp that is 44GB even though the disconnect occurred over 9 hours ago.

Relevant logs attached.

Hi. I believe this specific issue (forcing the device to sleep while actually playing live TV) is fixed in the current beta release of the app.

Thanks!

currently on Version 4.1.0.10

Just had this happen again.  It looks like the live tv stream stayed open, but this time for a few days.  I ended up with a 365GB file that only stopped growing when the drive was full.

zip of the last several days of logs attached.  Based on the file dates, it appeared to be created on the night of 3/9

I reported an issue tuner not being released and something used up so much space that wmc started deleting recordings until there was enough space for new recordings so as you can imagine my family through a fit that so many recordings got deleted luckily there is a catchup for live tv and some i have recorded in emby it is just a pain having to get the mouse out.

Where should I look to determine that is indeed emby that caused the space issue. From now on I will not use live tv until the issue is sorted as this issue reported here it is related.

Is anything being done to address this issue this is a serious as the one that lost the files most of my files got deleted and my family is furious and not one word from devs.

The tuner status has been removed so i have no idea are the tuners in use or not If the software was working properly I would not ever have to look wmc is stable and so there is no need but emby still has those issues.

If I was able to have a look at the status I would have picked up that it was used and could have avoided the files being deleted by wmc lucky not everything was deleted.

How about after 3 hours of no activity you display a message, "Are you still there?"  If no response, kill the stream and release the tuner.

We have that functionality in most of the other apps.  Just hasn't made it into this one yet.
