Folks -

Running a fresh install of both Emby Server 4.0.1.0 and Windows Pro 1809. There seems to be a glitch with the "Users" functionality that I couldn't find an existing post about..

After setting up a new user, when going back into "Users" via the Dashboard - the screen will come up with no data and a spinning wheel.

Or, if going into "Settings" via the Web App - the options screen comes up and when I click "Profile", the only thing that happens is the spinning wheel again.

This is sporadic. Sometimes it happens directly after restarting the server, sometimes it happens a bit later after having worked fine a few times.

I've attached screen prints and logs from these two instances (I think I copied the correctly timed logs). I happened to have only the single user from the installation at the time - "Admin". However, it still happens after adding an everyday user - "Thomas" as well.

I have Windows Security ignoring the entire Roaming\Emby-Server Directory structure - so that isn't sporadically locking up any files..

Thanks!

Thomas

Here you go Luke - is this what you're looking for?

I have 2 users configured - Admin and Thomas. I click either, and this happens..

Yet.. the actual ID's work perfectly as configured when I set them up..

Thanks!

Here is a little more info..

If I use the 3 dots and select "open" - same error.

If I use the dots and select "library access" - different error:

Hey Luke - no wizards or anything...

1 - (re) start Laptop / Emby Server software

2 - log in as "Admin" (on laptop running Emby Server Software) via MS Edge

3 - go to Users tab from Dashboard

4 - click either user

5 - get error

Edge is set to delete all History each time closed (and I've manually had I do so as well)..

I typically don't use Edge, but happens from computer in living room using Chrome as well - so I don't think Edge is the culprit..

BTW - seems like the error happens every time now. It would occasionally work before..

Err... Let me clarify..

#2 - logging into Emby as "admin" (on laptop running Emby Server Software) via MS Edge

The user I am logging into the actual laptop with has Admin Rights, just FYI..

Your browser is maintaining the "start=wizard#!" that should only appear during initial setup in startupwizard.

I can only get the url you have shown by running the startupwizard.

http://localhost:8096/web/index.html?start=wizard#!/dashboard.html

But closing the tab/browser and relaunching I get this

http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/dashboard.html

What url do you see at login for Emby?  Is it a shortcut/bookmark?

Holy Mackeral..!!

Do I ever feel stoopid!

As this was a brand new build all the way around, I think I just created the bookmark in Edge while configuring Emby during installation..

I just edited that bookmark.. And.. -- http://localhost:8096/web/index.html?start=wizard#!/dashboard.html

Whenever I manually make a bookmark for Emby, I just leave off everything past the port.

Wow.

Sorry for wasting ya'lls time!
