paul1965 2
I'm new to running Emby 3.5.3 on my PR4100 and I'm having issues with it not seeing the rest of my network. The NAS is connected to the Internet and Emby is able to download media info and images, but when I try to point Emby Backup to my network, or add a library that's on another NAS, nothing happens. When configuring the backup, it doesn't show me any of the other PC's, and if I manually enter a network address, it tells me it's invalid. I've checked some other settings on the NAS and think it's all correct, what can I check with the Emby setup? I've attached what might be a related error from the logs. Luke 37046
This is just a very small log snippet, however if you update to 4.0, the directory browser will be a little bit improved. but when I try to point Emby Backup to my network, or add a library that's on another NAS, nothing happens Ultimately this will come down to permissions. paul1965 2
I knew you'd say to update to 4.0 but I'm holding off because of the image formatting I've mentioned elsewhere. Can you give me more info on permissions? Are you talking about within Emby or the NAS? I looked a the log right before I tried saving a network location, and it was displaying info about a show it had just added. The included error occurred directly after I tried saving the network info. If more is needed I'll post it. Luke 37046
It sounds like Emby on the NAS does not have permissions to access the network folder.
paul1965 2
It sounds like Emby on the NAS does not have permissions to access the network folder. Well oddly enough, during an Internet outage tonight I decided to change out all of my Ethernet cables. After that was done along with a few reboots of the PC's, NAS's, router, switch and modem, I couldn't see any of the NAS's on the network. However once the Internet was back, they were too, and so was access to the rest of the network. Selecting Network still does nothing, but I can at least manually enter the IP and smb name to get things working. I find it interesting though that I can browse for a custom image in Emby and the search window shows my full network, including the image folder stored on another NAS. Out of curiosity, why does that work when the other search fails? Edited February 9, 2019 by paul1965
Luke 37046
search window shows my full network The search window is created and presented by your browser. The library setup browser is built by us. It is improved in the 4.0 release though, and i know you're still on 3.5. Thanks.
