'Digital Orchestra Berlin' statt 'Various Artists'

Recommended Posts

Hallo,

Spezifikation].

Da kann was im Übernahmeprozess nicht stimmen!

Hello Luke,

i put Various Artists in the mp3-tag ALBUMARTIST, in flac ALBUM ARTIST (foobar2000 does it for me).

The answer: Yes the ALBUMARTIST is still Digital Orchestra, but i renamed it with edit metadata. So, from the outside everything looks 'ok'.

Ah okey. du hast in Emby Tag-Plugins eingebunden?
Welche genau?

… never touch a running system. ggg

I had the problem as well, Emby wrongly connected a different artist than various artist to the musicbrainz ID of various artist in a first scan of my music library. The solution was to manually delete the ID from the other artist or identify with the correct musicbrainz ID, and then refresh the metadata of all albums of this artist. It seems that emby looks for the musicbrainz ID (or other external database IDs) and then assign the albums to it, regardless wether the name of the artist matches or not.

@@Luke I have a track from the artist "VV" (correct musicbrainz ID e9a25fb3-7de8-4041-9898-f172943807df)

In an old refresh and new scan of my metadata of my music library this artist was wrongly tagged by emby with the musicbraniz ID from Various artist (89ad4ac3-39f7-470e-963a-56509c546377). But this must have happend after emby created also the right Various Artist (this emby artist element got also the ID 89ad4ac3-39f7-470e-963a-56509c546377).

From now on, every music with the "Various artist" in the tags was assigned to the artist "VV" instead of "Various Artists), because of the (false) musicbrainz ID.

Once I deleted the ID from the metadata of the artist "VV" and refreshed all the false assigned albums metadata everything was all right.

The problem is a rescan and refresh of the whole metadata, because everytime I did this in the past, emby did some mistakes and messed up certain artists. In my last scan emby also did not create album covers for every album (I wrote this in this post), but thats another topic. It seems emby is kind of sloppy with a big refresh and scan :D

The example on the top repeated not only for various artists but also in other ways several times. So if you need more infos, I am glad to tell ;)

also this is kind of a bummer, these problems with music and emby, otherwise emby is a hell of a software and the best self hosted software I have been using :)
