Hi Luke,

I've been using Emby for about 2 years on 3 servers.

In normal time (in my case when server has just been rebooted), it take about 30 sec / 1 min tu view new episode / movie in emby server Home.

In the case that I'm reporting, I have to wait until the scheduled scan library (1 per day) to view my adding.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

In the log there is no mention of "05x05", even 8 minutes after adding this episode. So it doesn't seem to be working well :/

Hi

I have the same behavior with a DS418play and DSM 6.2.1-23824-4

I am adding and removing files and I sometimes have to manually ask for a library update, sometimes it auto updates.

Before Emby 4.X, it was working consistently.

+1 :-( DS2415+

hello together, I can confirm the error from the official version. In the last 4 beta it was still. The files come later than usual and the series are not triggered at all automatically. From about 16:20 o'clock I have only a series then pulled some movies in the main folder. The films are as I said later recognized as usual and the series not at all. The right naming and rights are also given correctly, has only surfaced with the update of the stable version.

I have attached LOG

Thanks and best regards

Can you please enable debug logging under logs, restart the server, then add new content, give it a little time, then attach the log?

Thanks.

We're happy to help but please make sure to follow this. Thanks !

The log has zero activity for two full hours:

2019-02-06 02:01:35.064 Info TaskManager: ExecuteQueuedTasks
2019-02-06 03:59:16.561 Info TaskManager: IntervalTrigger fired for task: Convert media

It is possible the nas idled and went to sleep?

Hello @@Hjlfmir

Thank you for the logs, I have now had a chance to review these and you are hitting the default iNotify limits, which are set at the system level.

e.g.

The configured user limit (128) on the number of inotify instances has been reached.

There may be something we do around this, but we'll need some willing test subjects!

How large is your library, how many files in total (approximately)?

The other repeated error I see in the logs relates to the ISO format files you have in your library. Are these rips of original discs, preserving the typical DVD/BD structure?

I can see the ISO mounter is working well and as expected, but FFprobe is failing with the following:-

Hi @@solabc16,

Thank you for your help !

My library is about 18 000 files.

ISO are rip from my discs, preserving the typical DVD/BD structure. Can you tell me which files are causing issue ?

Vincent.

Hello @@Hjlfmir

There's a few things we could do with regard to troubleshooting the realtime monitoring, but as we have a new runtime coming for this platform with the next stable release, it would make sense to hang fire until that update is released.

Something that would be useful however, can you run the following from an SSH session and post the output here (or in a file if too long)...

sudo /var/packages/EmbyServer/scripts/utilities/sbin/lsof | grep -i "inotify"

Thanks for the information about your library, that shouldn't be an issue.

Regarding the ISO rips, here are some examples...

/volume1/video/005-Concerts/Les Enfoirés 2012 - Le Bal Des Enfoirés (2012) (DVD 1).iso

/volume1/video/003-ISO DVD/Ze Inconnus Story - Le Bôcoup Meilleur - Vol.3 (2001).iso

/volume1/video/003-ISO DVD/Gad Elmaleh - Sans Tambour (2014).iso

...can you take a look at these and see what their content looks like, these are all generating "streams and format are both null" from FFprobe.

Best

- James
