Issue in Font Style

Question about ASS ... so Android TV player does not have feature to display ASS styling :(?

The player we're using does not support it at this time, but given how fast it's developing it's only a matter of time until it's added.

If I play the video from beginning without any forward/backward it will be synced correctly.

If I just make one click forward/backward it will not be synced correctly

Are you working on this? still not fixed

Hmmm doesn't look like those are being delivered via the new method.

Luke, do .ssa subs not get delivered via manifest?

Okay, then whatever this sync issue is I think exists in the server/transmission side.  I was hoping to just side-step it (which we have in most cases) by using the new VTT transmission.

Hi @@Luke @@ebr

It is difficult  to explain this problem but I'll try my best.

I have movie with three external subtitles:

1. English - srt

2. Arabic - srt

3. Arabic - ass

  • The movie is played in (transcoded):
    • if I select Arabic ass subtitle -> it will show me the English subtitle
    • if I select English srt subtitle -> it will show me the Arabic ass subtitle but not synced

  • The movie is played in (Direct):
    • if I select Arabic ass subtitle -> It will work
    • if I select English srt subtitle -> It will work

If you did not get my point, I'm ready to re-explain again or provide anything that help to fix it; I can also recode video of this issue for you if you want

Thanks

Server: Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS

What subtitle was selected for that ffmpeg log?  It looks like they were being burned in.

@@ebr,

I dont want to confuse you so I have attached two transcode files: one for when Arabic subtitle selected (ass) and the other for English (srt)

the problem here is: if I select Arabic it will show me English and if i select English it will show me Arabic

Thanks

Can you please send me a log from the app when producing just ONE of those problems?

Thanks.

currently what I see if have:

  • Movie + english srt + arabic ass

if I select english it will give me arabic out of sync

and if I select arabic it will give me english synced

  • Movie + english ass + arabic ass

if I select english it will give me english out of sync

and if I select arabic it will give me arabic out of sync

and in these cases there is no internal subtitle. only external files

Right, so the issue with the wrong sub being selected does not exist in that case.

The syncing is something with the delivery on the server during the transcode.  Might need @@softworkz to look at that.

As for the wrong one being selected - it appears the srt subs are being delivered to the app twice and that is what is messing up the indexing - but only if there is also an ssa sub to throw them off.
