My-Nas 0
Hello, I'm new to Emby and considering moving away from Plex because of the EPG limitations. I purchased a month pass to test Emby and access multiple EPG's, works great. When I watch any live TV channel for more five minutes or so the steam just stops. I've waited 10 minutes to see if it is just buffering but it's dead. If I go back into the guide and restart the stream, works again for about five minutes. Emby Server 4.0.1.0 on QNap TVS-682 I7 HD Homerun Connect Quatro Client - Windows 10 Pro via Firefox Any ideas would be appreciated.ffmpeg.txt Edited February 3, 2019 by My-Nas
Luke 37008
Hi there, as a test, can you try an alternate browser such as Chrome? Please see how that compares. thanks !
My-Nas 0
I tried Firefox, Chrome, and IE today. Both Firefox and Chrome behaved the same. After about five minutes the live stream stops. IE I can't connect to the server. I'm able to log in but when I hit 'Connect' I get a message the server is not reachable. The port is open on my Netgear Router so it might be Windows Firewall even thought I have it turned off and use Vipre Internet Security. Any ideas? ffmpeg1.txt ffmpeg2.txt ffmpeg3.txt
wangbo 6
I'm seeing this also as well as recordings being stopped anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes into a recording i'm using a HDHomerun Quatro so should able to watch/record 4 shows at one time and have looked to see if more than 4 shows would be causing a conflict but in each case there isn't even 2 shows conflicting. Also am seeing disconnects with server while viewing whether using Firefox or Vivaldi, or Konqurer, or opera. I was using schedules direct as my guide server but switched to the Emby guide server and this recording problems started right after that. Don't know if it has anything to do with it or not will switch back to schedules direct to see if it will help in the troubleshooting never had this problem until latest update. I'm using the latest QNAP firmware both before and after the update so don't think it is the problem but only way to find out is through troubleshooting one thing at a time. Help some of the shows I record do rebroadcast at later time and am able to record them later by manually recording instead of scheduling.but some do not. Luke 37008
Hi, is it possible you had an issue of signal strength on your HDHR tuner?
My-Nas 0
Hello, No. We can and do run four tv's without issue using Plex, HD Homerun App, or DNLA. I'll check Emby again today and only report back if it does not occur again otherwise the issue remains. Also in my other post another user expressed a similar issue with playback. When I experienced the issue with Emby stopping I started Plex right after and had no issues. Are they other tests you'd like to to try?
My-Nas 0
The condition continues. Here are the tests I ran. 1) Watch live tv on desktop using LAN connection. Stops in 5 minutes. 2) Watch live tv on laptop using WIFI connection. Stops in 5 minutes. 3) Watch several recorded movie and tv shows on desktop with LAN connection. Stops anywhere between 3 seconds and 4 minutes. ffmpeg.txt ffmpeg_Laptop.txt
wangbo 6
Ok still seeing the playback problem stopping after a few minutes while watching livetv. And reset my Guide back to Schedules direct and so far all recordings are uninterrupted and complete. Have not had a single show that has stopped after 5 to 15 minutes whether movie or tv show but for some reason when using the emby tvguide it stops in mid recording usually after between 5 to 15 minutes into the recording unless i manually start and stop the recording which defeats the whole purpose of scheduling a show or movie to record. My-Nas 0
wanbo, based on you comment I did the following testing. I was using Emby Guide data and had two guides installed, OTA and HD Homerun E 1) I deleted the Emby HD Homerun E guide and kept the OTA guide and it stil stopped at 5 minutes. 2) I deleted the Emby OTA guide and installed a single OTA guide from Schedule Direct and it still stopped at 5 minutes. I have noticed it appears to always stop at 5 minutes. Either 4:57, 4:58, or 4:59.

My-Nas 0
Thanks Luke. I installed 4.1.0.12 Beta and tried testing but the server would not accept my premium key. I did not get a chance to figure out why. Edited March 18, 2019 by My-Nas
samuelqwe 313
I am still experiencing live tv disconnects on the latest beta (4.1.0.15). Happened quite a few times today. I’ve tried both Apple TV and Fire TV, and they both exhibit the same issue. I get that my IPTV (not HD Homerun like OP) may not be 100% stable, but I was able to hit play to restart it everytime, while Emby was unable to recover from a slight stream interruption. My-Nas 0
What do you mean by that exactly? Steps I Took: 1) Full uninstall of Emby 4.0.2.0 on Qnap 2) Install Emby 4.1.0.12 Beta - Did a fresh setup 3) Entered Premium Key into Dashboard, Manage Server 4) When I try to watch Live TV I get the "Live TV requires an active Emby Premiere subscription.” message * This is my second key - my first monthly key deactivated after I stopped PayPal’s Auto Pay.
