Hi,

Since I updated my Emby Server to version 4.0.1.0, Music Album Covers are not fetched anymore, nor when adding new albums, nor when replacing all album's metadata, nor when manually editing images.

To reproduce the problem for this post, I tried to add the cover to music album "The 2nd Law" by Muse. The artist is correctly identified by Emby (MusibBrainz Id points to https://musicbrainz....e6-f9f61941d090) as well as the album (MusicBrainz Album points to https://musicbrainz....60-a876145819a1 and MusicBrainz Release Group point to https://musicbrainz....74-4da79a06abac)

From the album page, I clicked "... -> Edit images", then "Search". The result contains no album covers:

5c4f04b193453_3search.jpg

but in FanArt, there are two covers available:

Here is the relevant log of the process (debug enabled):

GET https://EMBY_SERVER/emby/Items/20460/Images

GET https://EMBY_SERVER/emby/Items/20460/RemoteImages?type=Primary&startIndex=0&limit=15&IncludeAllLanguages=false

{"Images":[],"TotalRecordCount":0,"Providers":["FanArt","TheAudioDB"]}

I tried with a fresh Emby Server install (restore from backup), but the problem is still there.

The problem is only related to music album covers. I have no problem fetching Music Artist images, nor fetching any kind of images for movies and tv shows libraries.

Any idea?

Hi, make sure the music brainz id you have is the same one that fanart has. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

The MusicBrainz Release Group Id of the album matches the one ot Fanart.

The problem affect ALL my music albums (even those that I was able to successfully edit on Emby Server 3.6)

I would suggest checking the settings for that particular library and make sure those image providers are enabled. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

I already checked: the image providers are enabled:

What externalids does the album show in edit metadata?

Mine show AudioDB ids also but I am not sure if the specific OS bug has been fixed on certain OSes.

Does yours popular if you Refresh Meatadata-Search for Missing metadata?

5c4f8288d03b2_id.jpg

Testing with only the ids you had, I got the same results you did no image results.  To me it looks like a partial identification issue.

I did some tests:
  • Refresh metadata: Scan for new and updated files.
    • Emby download an album cover.
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).
    • External Ids are not updated (only MusicBrainz Album Id and MusicBrainz Release Group Id are set).
  • Refresh metadata: Search for missing metadata.
    • No album cover is download.
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).
    • External Ids are not updated (only MusicBrainz Album Id and MusicBrainz Release Group Id are set).
  • Refresh metadata: Replace all metadata.
    • No album cover is download.
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).
    • Only MusicBrainz Album Id and MusicBrainz Release Group Id are set
  • Manually set External Ids (MusicBrainz Album Id, MusicBrainz Release Group Id, TheAutioDb Id, TheAutioDb Artist Id).
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).
  • Manually set External Ids (MusicBrainz Album Id, MusicBrainz Artist Id, MusicBrainz Release Group Id, TheAutioDb Id, TheAutioDb Artist Id).
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).
  • Remove all External Ids, then Identify using 2e5053f0-3023-4700-9660-a876145819a1 as MusicBrainz Album Id
    • Corret MusicBrainz Album Id and MusicBrainz Release Group Id are set.
    • Wrong MusicBrainz Artist Id (e9715bc7-93c2-4503-9799-2eb8cc0dfede) is set for this album and ALL other MUSE albums!
    • It is not possible to edit images (the search result has no image).

I then modified the library settings to only have MusicBrainz as metadata downloader and only FanArt as image fetcher. I repeated above tests with the same result.

I also tried uninstalling TheAudioDB plugin an repeated above tests with the same result.

I tried the same tests on other music albums with the same result: search result always has no image and sometimes emby set wrong MusicBrainz Ids. I never had this kind of problem on emby-server 3.6

Luke will need to see your server log, but all I can say is I don't see all this behavior on my Windows install.

I attached the log server during the test time frame (debug wasn't enabled).

My emby server is running on Arch Linux

Hi,

I'm working on the same problem for a week now. I'm on emby/embyserver:latest docker but already tried with a fresh install on emby/embyserver:beta.

My example:

Bullet For My Valentine

    --> (2005) The Poison

Artist ID correct and scrapped correctly...

ID: d530dbf9-69b1-404f-98f2-0431104f5a1e

embyserver.log: 2019-02-02 11:18:05.323 Info HttpClient: GET https://assets.fanar...0c00564de8d.jpg

Album ID correct and nothing is scrapped...

ID: 6584a03a-0aa8-4c1e-8cda-7cc098738cfc

embyserver.log: nothing!

If I do a manual lockup for the album (edit images, search icon):

embyserver debug log:

Btw. With a fresh install of emby/embyserver:3.5.3.0 the fanart.tv albumartwork is downloaded.

I'm having this issue as well... I didn't actually use music libraries until just now installing 4.0.1, so don't know how/if it worked before... but currently, with 4.0.1 i'm not getting any album art, artist art seems to work fine...

Not fixed with v4.1.0.8 beta.

Can we please get an update on this issue? Even an official recognition of the problem would be nice.

I failed again on current beta and stable docker. I attached the debug logfile.

Can someone please check or confirm that album art download ist working when using V4 (beta or stable) docker?
