WebSocket Closing Prematurely

So I was watching an episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine using the emby app on my 4K FireTV Stick.

 

All of a sudden it just stopped. It wasn't a transcoding issue because the Stick does direct play.

 

I had to force close the app and re open it. This happened a number of times during the episode.

 

Both app and server are up to date and the fire stick has an ethernet connection. This hasn't happened before.

 

 

On a side note and it may or may not be related but one thing that is weird is that in the logs its saying that my Samsung TV is connecting to the server.

 

This is odd because the TV was OFF when it says its was connecting.

 

I have noticed that the Samsung Tv (while being OFF) will wake up the server. This is particularly annoying at night.

 

 

Anyway, the log is attached. Look for error (WebSocket ConnectionClosedPrematurely)

 

 

PS // finished the episode on my chromebox. The new transcoding implementation is freaking epic. No buffering what-so-ever!

Hi, is this repeatable?

I watched the last 6 minutes of the episode this morning (where I was having issues last night) and it played fine.

Its weird that it didn't happen the second time I watched it.

 

I'll be watching some more shows tonight, so will see if it happens to these.

 

The Samsung TV thing I mentioned is repeatable as it constantly happens.

Right, so the Samsung has been disconnected from WIFI for the time being.

 

I watched an episode of Supergirl through the FireTV stick. 

 

No problems.

 

This weekend I will see if plugging an ethernet cable into the Samsung causes any issues for the FireTV stick.
