B3rt 8
I have a feature request and hope it can be added to this project. Is it possible to create a kodi pvr addon for emby? With this addon it should then be very easy to use live tv streamed by emby in kodi. In a beta version of emby there is live tv present in the addons but this is not the same as the pvr addon, in my kodi i could not get the live tv to work, i could see the channels but when selected no picture. Also no epg etc etc. So if it would be possible a seperate kodi pvr addon which streams the live tv channels within emby would be great.
Angelblue05 4130
It's been asked in the past. Hopefully someone will be interested on working on the project eventually. In the meantime, can you post your log to troubleshoot why live tv isn't playing? Feel free to start a new thread for that separate from your FR. Thanks. VladTepz 46
+1Although I understand it is easier said then done as most addons are written in Python, but the PVR addon binary's are written in C/C++, and would be a separate, dedicated project someone would have to commit to.Honestly, I'd just be happy if "Emby for Kodi /EmbyCon" allowed the existing implementation of LiveTV the ability to trans-code the LiveTV stream. (Which they don't, last I checked, even with everything else set to trans-code )I'd finally be able to get rid of my TVHeadend back-end of which its sole purpose is trans-coding LiveTV for my ( Low Powered/WiFi ) Kodi Boxes... I don't use live tv from emby anymore, on 1 box it is present and the other one it is not. Also it simply does not work as oas it suppose to (epg, recording, channel/epg view etc etc) comparing to the PVR addons. So for me the whole emby live TV can be removed from kodi if it does not work as a pvr addon.
abescalamis 76
I found a workaround for this, I installed a program for live tv in the server, then I installed the addon in emby server, then you can have live tv in kodi and Emby, This is just a work around the program that I used was "TV mosaic". sualfred 677
That's no workaround, that's the default approach to have PVR inside of Kodi: using a supported PVR backend https://kodi.wiki/view/PVR You just moved the backend from Emby to another software and use Emby + Kodi as client. But there is still no Emby PVR backend <-> Kodi Emby PVR client solution/feature. Edited March 5, 2019 by sualfred
Luke 37008
We are still interested in contracting someone for this project. If you know of someone in the Kodi community who is capable of doing the work, please have them get in touch with me. Thanks !
CvH 14
Why not supporting Sat>IP, it supports every? TV broadcasting standard. Every platform has some Sat>IP server ready to use (Tvheadend, Minisatip, DVBViewer) and there are also popular HW Sat>IP devices. You don't need to fiddle around with drivers and low level stuff. The standard is pretty good documented and possible workarounds are already available for copy/paste from minisatip/tvh and vdr-plugin-satip. Ofc you need to implement some kind of channel search and sorting functions but this is much less pain then doing it from scratch. Obviously its not a 2h task
xe` 42
This is an extraordinarily good idea. As a long term proponent of S2 sat cards ( and all the troubles that came with it) the day I purchased a Digisat R1 at ~100 Eu that magically turned a quad LNB into a rock solid SAT>IP was a breath of fresh air. Minisatip also just works. We can help you get a working setup at little to no money and I promise you will end up wondering why everyone doesnt use this.
