Is it normal behavior in Theater to have to have to select an EMBY server after rebooting or powering on the host that is running EMBY Server?

Hi all,

I checked to see if there was an existing thread that answers the query but I could not find a specific answer. It could be a poor choice of key words chosen.

I am just wondering if the below seen behavior is the software working as designed.

Anyway, as described, After powering on the computer that Emby Server is running or after rebooting it, I have to select the Emby server. I only have the one Emby server running.

I need to power on the server as I don't keep the server running over night.

- There is only the one user on the server (me).

- My account has a password

- 'Remember Me' is ticked

- I created a test account to see if I could replicate the behavior... and it did.

This behavior is not seen if I just close Emby Theater and reopen it.

Basically, I want to avoid having to select the sole server that is running in my environment every time I log onto it for the first time, after starting up the computer running the server.

I am on the latest version or Emby Server (4.x.x)

I tried reinstalling Theater with the latest available version, the week before last, from Emby server.

This sounds to me like you started up Theater before the server was started. As a result, Theater could not connect and that's why you were sent to the server selection screen. Does that sound right?

Its possible that on boot Theater starts up first. I haven't set a staggered start.

I will try doing that this weekend but I suspect that you are correct in your thinking that the server is not available (yet) when Theater is ready to go.

I will find out. Thanks for the pointer.
