I used to be able to stream 4K from my Nvidia shield to my Roku ultra 4K with Plex. With emby it just buffers and extremely chopping and unplayable. How can I force direct play?

Can you try lowering the in-app quality setting on the Roku? I think the default is probably just too high for your connection to handle.

For example, try setting it to 20 mbps. If that works well, then try gradually increasing it a little more.

thanks.

I just tried that and no difference no matter what I do. I have Plex on the same nvidia shield and it plays 4k flawlessly. I have Plex set to direct stream. I forgot to mention this is all local streaming from in home.

We have a new Roku update coming soon. I would suggest trying that once available. Thanks.

You need to check your Fiber settings if you only get 100Mbs.....https://www.highspeedinternet.com/resources/how-fast-is-fiber/

Well my ISP offers 100 up and down is all for residential. And thats their fastest they offer right now. Its plenty fast for me. I can upload at around 100Mbs while downloading the same time same speeds.

Just a Gimmick when they say it's Fiber then......They have that commercial here but AT&T Fiber is not available here. Fiber Speeds are a 1000 up and Down.

I use the app for my Sony android tv. And i used to be able to watch 4K with hdr no problem. And now I try a 4K movie and it only scales it to 1080p. Is it because of the app I downloaded from the App Store on my tv?
