Question about home screen settings

Title pretty much says it all.

Like most of us, when I'm watching some porn, I jump to the parts I want to watch, and turn it off when I'm "done". Unfortunately, because the video is only part-way through 'playing the movie', it keeps popping up on my home screen under the Continue Watching section. The only way to remove it is to mark the file as watched.

Is there a way to simply exclude a library from showing up in Continue Watching? It is a separate library from my Movies and TV Shows libraries, but for the life of me I can't find a way to exclude it that actually WORKS!  I've tried going into Settings -> Home Screen -> and unchecking the box that says "Display in home screen sections such as latest media and continue watching" for that library, but this doesn't actually work, it still shows half watched movies.

Watching on Roku Premiere, server installed on Windows 10 running Emby Version 4.0.0.2

Have you looked at the Server Home Screen setting? Web client-user icon-Home Screen-Scroll down to your special library and look at "Display in home screen sections such as latest media and continue watching"

Don't believe this is a Roku app issue.

Hi, does it show in the web app?

It does not show in the web app, only on the Roku app.  Both on my Premiere and Express.

Yes, I've tried that.  As I said in my original post:

"I've tried going into Settings -> Home Screen -> and unchecking the box that says "Display in home screen sections such as latest media and continue watching" for that library, but this doesn't actually work, it still shows half watched movies."

I didn't see any other place to change that option, and there was nothing like that listed in the Library settings itself.

What app version are you on?

All libraries I have tested honor that setting, but will test again when I get a chance.

I don't know if it is relevant or not, but when setting up the library, I chose Content Type: "Home Videos & Photos"

@@Luke Never knew of this or it would've already been done with the rest of the stuff I am doing. Should I just follow what the web app does?

@@Luke can the /resume be sorted? Or is this like /shows/nextup and done in a fashion that will not sort regardless if it is given sort by/order (aka it comes in one flavor)?

You should just have to change the api handler on line 291.  You should be able to leave the sort option as it currently is (datePlayed).

@@ebr but should the user be able to change this order if this was presented on a poster grid screen? The answer on discovery is no. They can't change sort by/order anyways when using "/resume?". So that's how it shall be. Consistency. That ever evolving goal with a moving target finish line. The closer you get, the further the finish line moves away from you. This is the nature of things. Set the bar high. As you approach it. Set it higher. :)

I <3 Emby. <3 <3 <3 sideways icecream cone hearts. I enjoy what we do and these interactions with users. :)

@@BlazedMonkey Are you using the Emby Beta for Roku? Is this still an issue in the Beta?

As I said earlier in the thread:

Both my Roku's are running Version 3.0 build 134

I didn't even know Emby Beta existed. I went ahead an installed Emby Beta from your link, and that seems to have fixed the issue, thank you!

Will this be fixed for the regular Emby install at some point in the near future?

Yes. The beta requires no Roku approval/submittal process to complete. It can be self published. The store version must be vetted by Roku which is why it comes after. It should be close to another store release soon.

Excellent, and thank you for the information about beta, that is good to know.
