hein 12 Posted January 19, 2019 Share Posted January 19, 2019 If you have manually edited metadata or movies that do no re-scan automatically, I would hold off for now. Or at least have an easily restorable and tested (!) backup handy (which is good practice anyways ) if you experience this bug. Besides that 4.x works great and the update path is painless. During the first start Emby does database migration and is unavailable for a short while. After that you might experience a significantly longer than usual first library scan. tdiguy 96 Posted January 19, 2019 Share Posted January 19, 2019 It wont be nearly as problematic as switching from the older install type that used the repository going to the newer install type that used the .deb files. It might even be pretty seamless but taking a backup is always a good idea and planning a little down time is prudent. The database i believe undergoes a major re-structure so first startup after upgrade takes longer than normal. But this new stable build is much more responsive. I love it so far.
