User Name 0
Internet installed and I'm ready to do this! Which Hoerun unit do I buy? My home has a pc server (Win10) with 8mb up speed. My cottage - where I want to send live tv (antenna) streams to - has 18mb down speed. THANKS!
Solution Luke 36878 Posted January 16, 2019 Solution Share Posted January 16, 2019 Hi there, any of these models should be fine: https://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/ It really just depends on how many tuners you want.

sluggo45 47
The Connect Duo is the cheapest and works fine with Emby; it has two tuners. If you watch & record a ton of stuff, the 4 tuner Quatro is what you want. The Extend costs more due to having a hardware encoder, which you don't need unless your Emby server isn't powerful enough to transcode it for you. The Prime is for CableCard, if you have that you already know it, and Emby won't play DRM protected content, which depending on your cable provider and packages could be a few or most of your channels. If you just want a simple, cheap solution for OTA Live TV with Emby the Connect Duo is fine.
User Name 0
Thanks for the thorough response! I was wondering which one. Not a power user. Just want to get the football games from the local stations at my home to the cottage. I can't get any antenna service at the cottage without putting up an 80 foot tower. That would cost way too much! Ordered the "Connect."
