notla49285 46
Am I right in thinking that user settings in the web app are stored per device and not set for the user across all devices? For example, I have set my theme as Blue Radiance at home and at work, I've just cleared my browser cache and temp files at work and found that the app theme has returned to the standard black background, yet at home it's still Blue Radiance. Can this not be stored centrally? If I change the theme in one browser, default behaviour I'd expect that theme to be applied across the board. I, like I'm sure others do, clear out my cache fairly regularly so changing this back every time is going to become tiresome.
ebr 14910
This kind of thing is usually a six of one half dozen of the other type area. Different environments (think theater room vs. desktop) may very well desire different themes.
notla49285 46
It's just that I think Blue Radiance looks a LOT more professional than the standard black and more appealing to a user new to Emby, I think it even ends up looking better than Plex, it should be the default imo but you obviously have to cater for the majority of Emby users. Is this not the default theme for Emby Theatre though?
Luke 37051
The storage of user settings is something that can be improved in the future, yes.
notla49285 46
@@ebr (or Luke, but in response to ebr), what about having a default set per user on the server, and also store data in cookies/cache locally on the device? If there is data present locally, then override the server setting otherwise use server default? Edited January 8, 2019 by notla49285
Luke 37051
It's possible for the future. Thanks.
