Unable to connect

Emby server 3.2.28.0

Apple TV 4K connected via ethernet

 

I've been running my Emby server for several years and just purchased an Apple 4K TV. I downloaded and installed the Emby app on the A4KTV. When I select the app it keeps spinning on trying to connect.

 

I've tried various combinations of rebooting the A4KTV and deleting/reinstalling the app. Nothing gets me passed the continuous trying to connect spinning.

 

Yes, I have internet access.

Yes, I'm on the same subnet as the Emby server.

Yes, I can connect to the Emby server via an iPhone and iPad.

 

No, I do not get to the point I can manually input my server ip address.

 

Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi, have you tried skipping the Emby Connect login feature? This will then allow you to manually enter your server address. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks!

How do I do that?  I am never presented with any options.  When I select the app it never moves past starting up.

Any update on this? A friend of mine is having a similar issue and I don't have an Apple TV myself to test with. I've not had anyone else with connection issues, just the Apple TV.

I've rebooted the server and router, still unable to connect.

 

Really sad as I took my HTPC down expecting the Apple TV would replace it.

Hi.  We think this may be related to you running such an old version of the server.  Can you upgrade to the latest release?

Updating the server did the trick and I can now access my Emby server via ATV 4K.

 

Checking the server version was the first thing I did, but the server dashboard said the version was up to date.  I couldn't use the auto download and ended up re-installing Emby rather than updating.  Content is still there, but I have to re-set up access.  Not the end of the world, but kind of a pain.  Oh well, overall I'm happy with the ATV front end.
