"This app will now restart to free up memory" - When playing film

I have an LG 43UH603V (https://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-43UH603V) with Emby installed. About 50% of the time when attempting to play a film the Emby app will close and restart with the error "This app will now restart to free up memory". It doesn't seem to do it when playing a TV series.

This doesn't happen when using the Netflix / other apps on the TV.

The TV is using version 1.0.9 of the Emby app from 3/8/2018 (which appears to be the latest available)

Is there any fix for this?

Each new release of the app is continuing to improve this. We are working on resolving this. Thanks.

This is the latest. We currently have an update in LG review.

Is there any update on the status of the update in review with LG?

I have had my TV, after the original one was replaced after a month and I lost all my recordings because of the stupid DRM lock. I recently had an update for changes to the Freeview app and now keep getting this same problem appearing more and more freqently, in fact I cannot even get into settings any longer, it crashes every time. I cannot believe this problem has been going on for so many years, if I did that to computer systems 20 years ago I would have been fired, and quite rightly to.

Perhaps it is about time someone pulled their finger out and got it fixed, I will try a cold boot when I have finished watching an episode but really think this is dire and should in any event be made public to us as to what exactly is causing the problem, we can then delete the offender and get some normal use again.  This is now getting aggrevating, it keeps interupting the show I am trying to watch, every 30 seconds! This has only started since a new update came down a few days ago and now I want rid of it, this is like windows updates crashing my laptop, I have now turned them off as a result and I will only let them down, manually, when the bugs have gone.
