Film streamen statt konvertieren

Hallo,

 

ich bin ein langjähriger und begeisteter Nutzer von MediaBrowser 1 und 2. Ich bin jetzt auf emby umgestiegen. Ich habe auf meinem Server alle Filme im MKV container, wobei die Videos entweder im x264, oder x265 Codec sind. Im Container sind auch mehrere Untertitel enthalten. 

 

Ich hätte jetzt eine Frage zum generellen Abspielen der Filme auf den unterschiedlichen Apps. Ich bin jetzt nämlich drauf gekommen, dass auf meinem LG TV, mit der LG App von Emby die Filme immer konvertiert werden, statt nur gestreamt, sobald zumindest foreced Untertitel im MKV File enthalten sind und angezeigt werden sollen. Können die Apps nativ keine Untertitel aus dem MKV extrahieren, weil immer konvertiert werden muss?

 

Ich hätte es gern wie bei dem alten MediaBrowser gehandhabt, dass alles nur gestreamt wird, da ich es nur im Heimnetzwerk (LAN) verwende, wo eigentlich nicht 'runter' konvertiert werden müsste - vorallem auch, weil mein Server das konvertieren hardware technisch nicht schafft.

 

Gibt es vielleicht eine Auflistung, welche App (LG TV App, FireTV Stick, WMC Plugin) welchen Codec mit oder nur ohne Untertitel ohne konvertieren wiedergeben kann?

Versuch mal in den Emby Server Einstellungen unter Transcoding ganz unten "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" zu aktivieren.

@@puntipik Das Problem sind nicht die Untertitel ansich, sondern das Format der Untertitel. Ich kenne keinen TV der pgs oder vobsub wiedergeben kann. Und Emby nutzt auf den TV's ja einfach den Fernseher-internen Player. Du solltest also bei deiner Filmauswahl darauf achten, dass srt/txt basierende Untertitel vorhanden sind.

 

Unter iOS genau das gleiche Problem. Nur die Android Apps und natürlich Emby Theater für Windows können pgs und vobsub.

Falls die Untertitel extern sind, dann könntest du die einfach in SubRip (.srt) umwandeln.

Das mache ich mit den VobSubs auch derzeit. :-)

Ok, danke für die Erläuterungen. Leuchtet mir ein, dass das der Grund für das Transkodieren ist.

 

Was kann der Grund sein, wenn er mir die Untertitel aber nicht anzeigt? Habe einen Film, mit VobSub Untertitel, der Transkodiert wird, aber auch einen mit SubRip/Txt, der nicht transkodiert werden muss. Bei beiden wird mir aber kein Untertitel angezeigt, am TV.

 

Desweiteren habe ich jetzt einen Film mit einem Unterordern "Sub", wo zusätzlich die Untertitel abgelegt sind. Die Forced sind direkt im Container, Eng und DE aber zusätzlich auch noch im Ordner. Diese Info wird mir in Emby App aber nicht angezeigt, wenn ich beim Film die möglichen Untertitel anzeigen lasse. Darf das nicht in einem Unter-Folder sein, bzw. müssen die Dateien der Untertitel gewisse Namesgebungen berücksichtigen?

Furthermore, I now have a movie with a subfolder "Sub", where in addition the subtitles are stored. The forced are directly in the container, Eng and DE but also in the folder. This info is not shown to me in Emby App but if I let the film show the possible subtitles. Can not this be in a subfolder, or do the subtitle files have to take into account certain names?

What can be the reason if he does not show me the subtitles? Have a movie, with VobSub subtitles, which is transcoded, but also one with SubRip / Txt, which does not need to be transcoded. In both, but no subtitle is displayed on the TV.

Can we see log examples of each of these? thanks.

This is currently not supported.

But you can setup open subtitles downloads, so this will also download subtitles, which are not included into the container, they are supported? What are the requirements, an external subtitle file will be supported? Is it the file-format, or the folder structure?

Hi, late response here

 

with the new emby version, all subtitles are shown correctly. Open subtitles download is not a solution for me, because forced subtitles are not supported to be downloaded. Therefore the movies are transcoded the most times (because of foreced subs), but I upgraded (more power) my media server and it works now.
