M4A Audio Files - Missing Metadata

Recommended Posts

I am running Version 3.6.0.79 beta on Qnap.

After loading my music into Emby, no alum art or metadata is shown. All of the files have been tagged with MusicBrainz Picard and are in m4a format.

Here is a sample file:

Why do I not see any metadata or album art?

I don't think there is any metadata at all.

In the library settings, I unchecked all of the checkmarks to download metadata assuming that Emby will read embedded metadata.

I enabled the option to download metadata from MusicBrainz and album metadata appeared. Does this mean that Emby reads from MusicBrainz database or embedded metadata.

Here is another sample file that has metadata album art but Emby does not see it.

Are embedded PNG images suppose to be read?  I changed the image in mp3 above to a jpg and it displayed properly

Can you zip this file up and attach it to the forum? This site does not look trustworthy to me. They are requiring that I allow notifications in order to download the file.

Or @@Happy2Play if you already have it. Thanks.

I apologize. I did further investigation and there were problems with my files. They were not properly tagged. No complaints about Emby.

Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback!

I was actually hoping to get a copy of that file so that i can test the embedded png though, thanks.

Retested file in post 4 in a portable beta and this time the server didn't have a issue with the embedded png, so not sure what happened the first time.
