Jdiesel 1113
This was an interesting and informative article that I thought I'd share. Just goes to show how fragmented the HDR formats are. https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1543913516
Guest asrequested
That's interesting. It's so convoluted, and how many people would actually be able to visually tell them apart? I recently discovered that my Visio does support HLG, when I didn't think it did. I was able to play it through the shield. I'll have to see if I can find an HDR10+ video, and try to play it. I haven't successfully played a Dolby vision video, yet. But I'm waiting on something that will help me do that.
Carlo 4330
Yes, it's far more fractured then the normal person would think it is. Unless you read a lot or own a 4K TV and tried to play a format not supported you probably wouldn't even know it. Of course places like Best Buy don't help at all and one would think a 4K TV is a 4K tv by talking to their sales people. LOL Unfortunately for us guys who do care the majority of people who buy 4K TVs want to be able to play 4K online content which really doesn't compare to a good rip but most will never know the difference.
