Gigaa 0
Hey. I recently bought an Nvidia shield tv and installed Emby Android TV, so far so good. However when playing video files with 24 bit sample flac files only loud static noise seems to be playing. Tested two files and both have been doing the exact same thing. Checking out the "stats for nerds" option shows them with "Audio bitrate: <Unknown>" but it plays perfectly on Emby with my phone or with mpv on my desktop. Here is the mediainfo for both of the files. Gigaa 0
Gave it a go and got the same result. Version 1.6.67g right?
ebr 14859
Yeah, my samples are all 16bit and play fine. if you use "Playback Corrrection..." can you get it to play properly? Can you dropbox me a sample file?
Gigaa 0
Yes, it seems to play fine with playback correction. I don't have dropbox but I can PM you a public link from my nextcloud.
sexyllama 0
Hey there, New to the forums here, but have been using Emby since July (picked up Premiere in August) and still loving it. Picking up this thread (newest I could find regarding this) but I am also experiencing this same issue with one of my video files. Note that when I play this through a browser, the emby app on my phone (Android/Pixel 2), emby theater, it works great, it ONLY seems to be affected when playing back on an Android TV (XBR-65X810C). Fortunately this appears to only be affecting one series so it's not a huge deal, but it is an annoyance none the less. That said, the below are the details gathered from the info tab on the web portal. Similar to the above, when you first play the video you'll get nothing but static (sounds like the static on the TV's of old where it not on the right / accessible channel). After hitting the Playback Correction, it seems to resolve the issue. Interestingly when you first load the file, it only has one audio option (the FLAC), however after playback correction this separate AAC stream becomes available. On the TV, that's the one that works. Not sure if this is a problem with the way the video is encoded, or if there's a detection check / codec / something missing on the client side. Also note that this seems to have be a problem between multiple server versions (3.5.2.0,3.5.3.0, 4.0.0.2), running on CentOS 7, so again suspecting client side on the TV. Was there a resolution on this? Was there a resolution on this? Not really a solution but I changed the external player to VLC and that seems to have fixed it somewhat. You will loose out on setting resume points but in return you get usable subs and no static from 24 bit flac files.
Luke 36881
Hi, I assume it's direct playing, can you confirm that from the server dashboard? thanks.

sexyllama 0
Looks like it is fixed in the beta for me (1.6.76g was the version showing after I ran the update), thanks! For the sake of curiosity, what does the ETA look like for a standard version release of this beta? Edited January 19, 2019 by sexyllama

For the sake of curiosity, what does the ETA look like for a standard version release of this beta? Should be relatively soon. We've just finished up the last features we want in it. Thanks.
