Sony Android TV losing Naviagation Focus

Hi,

couldn't find find this question anywhere, so here goes. For several months now, I've had this weird navigation problem.

Unfortunately I don't know exactly anymore, when this was introduced.

Currently the App reports itself as:

AndroidTv 1.6.62g
Running on:
Sony KD-65XD7504

The Problem is as follows:
1. Navigate to any TV show episode overview page (the one with chapters and actors and so on).
2. Visit any sub page like going to an actors page or starting the episode.
3. Upon pressing back, or having the episode finish playing, the overview page is displayed again. However, I can no longer navigate using the Arrow keys.
Only after returning to the main menu or the "Season N - Episodes List" navigation Focus is restored.

I work around this, by using the episode list view in seasons so i'll only have to go back 2 steps to select the next episode.

My NVshield does not exhibit the same behaviour.

Unfortunately i have no idea where to begin debugging this, so any help would be very much appreciated.

greetings

Hi,

I've just sent a log from the app (hopefully)

I was playing Hunter x Hunter - Season 1 Ep 41.

Server Version 3.5.3.0

User: MoD

Also I've noticed an additional loss of focus issue:

Main Menu Latest Row -> Hunter x Hunter -> go to season view for Season 1 -> select ep 41 -> start ep 41-> run a few seconds -> back -> episode view (no focus) -> back -> season view (focus OK) -> back -> Show Overview (no focus again) -> back -> Main Menu (focus is as mormal)

thanks for looking into this!

must be some weird edge case with whatever sony has done to android on this TV...

Okay, so this is obviously the problem:

11-27 16:42:00.217 30916 30916 W PhoneWindow: Previously focused view reported id 2131362487 during save, but can't be found during restore.

Now the question is why...?

I'll try to see if there is some way I can recover from that.

I have the same TV and had the same issue. Then one day i came to try it and it was working fine. I didnt need to press up twice on my remote to regain some kind of focus. im Not home at the moment but when i get in, i will try again.

Hello,

just wanted to do my due dilligence and re-install the app. The Version has changed to 1.6.64g now and the focus issue is apparently resolved.

Did you update the app already? Just hope I didn't waste your time looking at this.

greetings

Ben
