pir8radio 1292
Anyone else fighting the wifi drops after the oreo update on the MiBoxes? I had to ditch them for the new firetv 4k sticks because they all drop at different random times during a show. Many people on the net having the same issues, and mibox keeps closing my forum posts acting like there is no issues. lol Oh well... Still nice hardware... Guest asrequested
Mine just died, but prior to that, it seemed pretty stable. I'm thinking about getting the MiBox S
Q-Droid 634
No issues with mine which has been on Oreo for some time now. I use it daily for Live TV but mostly for around 45min at a time, no extended viewing. My biggest beef is that it doesn't always like to wake up to a USB dongle remote and forces me to use the Mi remote to come out of sleep.
tehburr 1
I just bought a mibox over the weekend on clearance at Walmart and for the life of me I can't get it to update to Oreo ota. For the waking function, you can disable sleeping with developer options enabled.
ebr 14903
Mine is pretty bad as well. I cannot keep it connected to my dev station/debugger for more than about 15 minutes.
Q-Droid 634
I just bought a mibox over the weekend on clearance at Walmart and for the life of me I can't get it to update to Oreo ota. For the waking function, you can disable sleeping with developer options enabled. Mine updated sometime in the summer, maybe earlier in the year (I can't remember the exact time). I've come to believe the "check for update" button does nothing. Leave it plugged in for a few days and I think it will find an update. As for the wake issue, I want it to sleep. That part works fine when I turn off the TV, CEC will put the Mi Box to sleep and most of the time it wakes up via USB and turn on the TV via CEC. I suspect other people in the house are turning off the Mi Box with the native remote and it's then that it won't wake via USB or CEC.
